IXIGO - The easy way to fly cheap

Want to fly but hate spending time comparing differnt options.

A newly lunched website IXIGO.com takes the pain out of comparision shopping for airline tickets.

What IXIGO will do is: search all the travel and airline websites for flights on the sector and dates you specify and show all of them on one single screen.

There are options like choosing the window of departure or arrival time - say you want to search only for flights between 7 and 11 PM.

The interface is simple but intutive.

It is stil in Beta, but it rocks!!!

The Journey Begins

On 22nd May.

The Journey towards our attempt at achieving immortality !!!
We have assembled a team of six batchmates who would help us take on the world.
And It is going to be two months. Of Immense Hard Work and A Little Bit of Fun.
Although the last few months have been a roller coaster ride, but for now the ocean is quiet and the sky is clean.
Will I be able to motivate the team to do the impossible - remains to be seen.

Brand New Startup!!!

What to do now ?
I am launching our first venture.
This a technology venture - And yes, I am coding - feels like a fresh breath of life.
It is going to be a mobile startup and we have our plans chalked out for the next 6 months and by that time we should make some people turn in their beds (and fall) :D

We are building an Atom Bomb and the world will hear when it is released.

If this dream is successful, it may lead to our planned startup.

Satisfaction - The roadbloc to success?

This sunday I catched up with Amit after a long time. Out of the blue he asked me: Do you think most Indians get satisfied if they are earning something like 25000 Rs and stop trying to improve themself. I thought for a second and the answer was obvious: Most people get satisfied. For a lot of people, earning something like Rs. 25K per month is all they want. Once they reach that stage, they stop trying altogether. Amit was asking this in context of his recent experience with some event management company. This company was moderately successful and they behaved in a very unprofessional way as if they did not care for their customers. Was it that this company does not actively want to improve their customer base?

I remember a few friends of friends and seniors who were working in Infosys (in 2001) earning something like 17K per month. When I asked them when do they plan to jump to a better job, they said they don't want to. They are satisfied where they are. And I really find it amusing. Now I am not an advocate of people jumping around companies - I plan to own one shortly - but being satisfied with your earnings and your status generally kills your killer instinct.
Is satisfaction with their earnings the reason why very few Indians do startups? I really feel so.

India Busy!!!

Have been quite busy in the last month. And going by the blogs of Indian Entreprenuers that I follow, All of them seem to be too busy to blog.
So now you know why there have been no blogs from my side. :)

I am in Delhi / NCR this weekend, trying to catch up with old friends.

Do only what you really want to

Entreprenuership is a journey. And like any other journey, it will be much more beautiful if you are with someone you love.

Note:
1. Some people say - you like what you are good at. Don't belive them!!! Probably this statement is another example of the unique ability of human beings to confuse cause and effect.
2. Paul Grahm has a wonderful and long essay on doing what you love. But I did not learn from him. I learned from my experience which further verifies I am just a human ;)
